Frutarom offers a blackcurrant extract produced using 100% fresh BenArd blackcurrants, grown in the pure climate of New Zealand. It provides a broad spectrum of anthocyanins and up to 4 times higher levels than other blackcurrant extracts.
Anthocyanins are used for the therapy of fragile blood vessels and changed permeability of blood capillaries. Blackcurrant preparations are traditionally used in France for the symptomatic treatment of cutaneous capillary fragility and venous insufficiency.
The mayor anthocyanins found in blackcurrant of the BenArd variety show protective effects on the heart, capillaries and the circulatory system, as well as health supporting radical scavenger properties (in vitro).
