Protein M is a marine cartilage extracted from skate and other selacians, which contains hydrolyzed proteins (mainly Collagen II) and polysaccharides (35 to 40% chondroitin sulphate).  

Protein M combines the same polysaccharides and proteins that are found in the skin for a synergic action: collagen  fibers give  the dermis tensile strength and polysaccharides prevent moisture loss. Numerous clinical studies show that the Protein M polysaccharides and proteins are active in the dermis where they improve the basic skin structure and texture, as well as the skin's natural moisture balance.
